The ghost town and roundhouse was amazing and even better than we expected. We loved it as much as our 5 year old did. The room was dated but seemed very clean and about what we expected for the price. The gardens and grounds were beautiful and of course the mountain setting is stunning! A great stopover when travelling from Vancouver-Calgary with young kids
There is not a lot of soundproofing and other guests were out on their patio until 1pm which was difficult to sleep through. Please improve the restaurant- the reviews online were so terrible we didn't want to even try it so we got toast and cereal at the cafeteria instead. We would have loved to look forward to a great dinner when we arrived and a great hot breakfast but no one wants to waste $40 on a bad meal. Your restaurant reviews are awful and people pay attention to that so I think you need to take that seriously and work on that.
The thoughtfulness that went into many details.
The staff was friendly, the room was clean
The restaurant was horrible - and as it's the only one nearby, we shortened our stay, because the thought of eating there in the morning was so unappealing. The food was bland, simply reheated frozen food, and salad-in-a bag, yet cost as much as a good meal should! (Roughly $20/plate!) After this, what would normally be forgivable (sheets that don't fit the bed, hard floors with cheap carpet and no underlay, slightly run-down grounds) became irritating. Especially when paying resort prices for the room. The icing on the cake was that there was no hot water in the morning to shower!!! Don't bother staying here - it looks nice from pictures and website, and even as you drive by on the highway, but seen up close, it is a tacky, loud (helicopter tours until sunset), rundown place.
Great service when we checked in - which is hard to find! Although it's an older hotel the rooms were very clean and reasonably priced compared to hotels in kamloops. It's a cute area and next time we would like to spend more time walking around, tour then town, rather than just a quick overnight.
The restaurant is a bit disappointing though.
The friendly staff and the ability the tour the ghost town at a discounted rate. The view and the area are amazing!
The only think I didn't agree with was the extra charge for the kids when the room had 2 beds already. Our kids are 3, 12, 14 and the 3 year old slept on the floor in a sleeping bag we brought along. The tvs don't work very well when you are trying to end your evening and just want to relax.
Great price, beautiful scenery, nice rooms.
Terrible dinning experience. Poor service, some food overcooked and some undercooked. Overcharged on bill.
Room was in need of loving care, chairs falling apart, tv not working, bathroom showing signs of decay.
I enjoyed the view in the surrounding area.
It's a bit pricey considering they treat a 12 year old boy as adult.
Located at exicited ghost town. Very friendly stuff.
In the right place at the right time Good Staff Rooms tired
I was there with my daughter and grandson. It was a wonderful place to take an 8 year old child. He enjoyed the hotel, the pool, the "haunted village" which is a very well put together exhibit, the exhibits of old t rains and old cars. Nice relaxed little restaurant for breakfast as well.A Comforatalbe family hotel.
Lovely gardens. Have driven by here all my life and finally stopped for tour and the night. Incredible labour of love has gone into the ghost town details.
Nothing special about the dining room menu. Very bland.
Cost was reasonable.
Bathroom - location of toilet in handicap room was very difficult for my wife. Also the hot water in the shower was extremely hot and very hard to regulate. I am sure that if I had not been awaiting her she would have been badly scolded.
well equipped rooms with outstanding views.plenty to do on site, with train museum @ghost town as part of site, helicopter rides and boat hire.
had a bad meal in restaurant in the evening, but breakfast was good.
1. Quietness at night. 2...360 deg fantastic views. 3..The ghost town I wrongly though would be hokey and hollywood. It was well worth the 2.5 hrs we wandered around. 4...The restaurant staff were very good as was the Chicken Schnitzel. Location is exactly half way between Drumheller Alta and Vancouver
Possibly early in the season but I would have liked a little more choices on the menu to make it a complete dining experience. e.g different fish and seafood choices along with steak choices.otherwise OK
